ICG is pleased to announce a partnership with the Hope House emergency shelter for women, and women with children, to create a garden and park space for use by the shelter residents. With the help of trained female volunteers and a Master Gardener, residents will learn about organic gardening. Each of the garden planters will produce more than $350 worth of fruits and vegetables per growing season. Surplus harvests will be donated to local food pantries or soup kitchens by the residents themselves, providing them with an opportunity to raise their self-esteem and to be charitable members of their community.
This will, of course, require a financial investment on the part of our community. Please click here to donate to this exciting new venture!
